In this paper we prove all balanced symmetric Boolean functions of fixed degree are trivial when the number of variables grows large enough. We also present the nonexistence of trivial balanced elementary symmetric Boolean functions except for n=lβ‹…2t+1βˆ’1n=l\cdot2^{t+1}-1 and d=2td=2^t, where tt and ll are any positive integers, which shows Cusick\u27s conjecture for balanced elementary symmetric Boolean functions is exactly the conjecture that all balanced elementary symmetric Boolean functions are trivial balanced. In additional, we obtain an integer n0n_0, which depends only on dd, that Cusick\u27s conjecture holds for any n>n0n>n_0

An Improved Transplantation Strategy for Mouse Mesenchymal Stem Cells in an Acute Myocardial Infarction Model

To develop an effective therapeutic strategy for cardiac regeneration using bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs), the primary mouse BM-MSCs (1st BM-MSCs) and 5th passage BM-MSCs from Ξ²-galactosidase transgenic mice were respectively intramyocardially transplanted into the acute myocardial infarction (AMI) model of wild type mice. At the 6th week, animals/tissues from the 1st BM-MSCs group, the 5th passage BM-MSCs group, control group were examined. Our results revealed that, compared to the 5th passage BM-MSCs, the 1st BM-MSCs had better therapeutic effects in the mouse MI model. The 1st BM-MSCs maintained greater differentiation potentials towards cardiomocytes or vascular endothelial cells in vitro. This is indicated by higher expressions of cardiomyocyte and vascular endothelial cell mature markers in vitro. Furthermore, we identified that 24 proteins were down-regulated and 3 proteins were up-regulated in the 5th BM-MSCs in comparison to the 1st BM-MSCs, using mass spectrometry following two-dimensional electrophoresis. Our data suggest that transplantation of the 1st BM-MSCs may be an effective therapeutic strategy for cardiac tissue regeneration following AMI, and altered protein expression profiles between the 1st BM-MSCs and 5th passage BM-MSCs may account for the difference in their maintenance of stemness and their therapeutic effects following AMI

Dynamic synthetic inertial control method of wind turbines considering fatigue load

    Get PDF
This paper proposes a dynamic synthetic inertia control method, considering the fatigue loads of the wind turbine. The control objectives include reducing the rate of change of frequency and frequency nadir of the power system and the fatigue load of the shaft and tower of the wind turbine. A frequency regulation model of the power system containing the primary operating dynamics of the wind turbine is established. The dynamic synthetic inertia control method is proposed according to the relationship between fatigue load, wind velocity, and frequency. Case studies are conducted with a wind turbine fatigue load under a synthetic inertia control with different weights for different wind velocities and system loads. Therefore, the dynamic weights are obtained. Comparing the rate of change of frequency and frequency nadir and equivalent damage load, the efficacy of the proposed method is verified

Lipopolysaccharide-induced depression-like model in mice: meta-analysis and systematic evaluation

Depression is a complex and biologically heterogeneous disorder. Recent studies have shown that central nervous system (CNS) inflammation plays a key role in the development of depression. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced depression-like model in mice is commonly used to studying the mechanisms of inflammation-associated depression and the therapeutic effects of drugs. Numerous LPS-induced depression-like models in mice exist and differ widely in animal characteristics and methodological parameters. Here, we systematically reviewed studies on PubMed from January 2017 to July 2022 and performed cardinal of 170 studies and meta-analyses of 61 studies to support finding suitable animal models for future experimental studies on inflammation-associated depression. Mouse strains, LPS administration, and behavioral outcomes of these models have been assessed. In the meta-analysis, forced swimming test (FST) was used to evaluate the effect size of different mouse strains and LPS doses. The results revealed large effect sizes in ICR and Swiss mice, but less heterogeneity in C57BL/6 mice. For LPS intraperitoneal dose, the difference did not affect behavioral outcomes in C57BL/6 mice. However, in ICR mice, the most significant effect on behavioral outcomes was observed after the injection of 0.5 mg/kg LPS. Our results suggests that mice strains and LPS administration play a key role in the evaluation of behavioral outcomes in such models

Genome editing reveals dmrt1 as an essential male sex-determining gene in Chinese tongue sole (Cynoglossus semilaevis)

Chinese tongue sole is a marine fish with ZW sex determination. Genome sequencing suggested that the Z-linked dmrt1 is a putative male determination gene, but direct genetic evidence is still lacking. Here we show that TALEN of dmrt1 efficiently induced mutations of this gene. The ZZ dmrt1 mutant fish developed ovary-like testis, and the spermatogenesis was disrupted. The female-related genes foxl2 and cyp19a1a were significantly increased in the gonad of the ZZ dmrt1 mutant. Conversely, the male-related genes Sox9a and Amh were significantly decreased. The dmrt1 deficient ZZ fish grew much faster than ZZ male control. Notably, we obtained an intersex ZW fish with a testis on one side and an ovary on the other side. This fish was chimeric for a dmrt1 mutation in the ovary, and wild-type dmrt1 in the testis. Our data provide the first functional evidence that dmrt1 is a male determining gene in tongue sole

A Movie Recommendation System Based on Differential Privacy Protection

In the past decades, the ever-increasing popularity of the Internet has led to an explosive growth of information, which has consequently led to the emergence of recommendation systems. A series of cloud-based encryption measures have been adopted in the current recommendation systems to protect users’ privacy. However, there are still many other privacy attacks on the local devices. Therefore, this paper studies the encryption interference of applying a differential privacy protection scheme on the data in the user’s local devices under the assumption of an untrusted server. A dynamic privacy budget allocation method is proposed based on a localized differential privacy protection scheme while taking the specific application scene of movie recommendation into consideration. What is more, an improved user-based collaborative filtering algorithm, which adopts a matrix-based similarity calculation method instead of the traditional vector-based method when computing the user similarity, is proposed. Finally, it was proved by experimental results that the differential privacy-based movie recommendation system (DP-MRE) proposed in this paper could not only protect the privacy of users but also ensure the accuracy of recommendations

An Improved Genetic Algorithm for Emergency Decision Making under Resource Constraints Based on Prospect Theory

The study of emergency decision making (EDM) is helpful to reduce the difficulty of decision making and improve the efficiency of decision makers (DMs). The purpose of this paper is to propose an innovative genetic algorithm for emergency decision making under resource constraints. Firstly, this paper analyzes the emergency situation under resource constraints, and then, according to the prospect theory (PT), we further propose an improved value measurement function and an emergency loss levels weighting algorithm. Secondly, we assign weights for all emergency locations using the best⁻worst method (BWM). Then, an improved genetic algorithm (GA) based on prospect theory (PT) is established to solve the problem of emergency resource allocation between multiple emergency locations under resource constraints. Finally, the analyses of example show that the algorithm can shorten the decision-making time and provide a better decision scheme, which has certain practical significance
